Modeling Cotton Insect Movement

J. Alan Stark, Jerry H. Young, and Linda J. Willson

ABSTRACT

Modeling of insect activity and population dynamics in agroecosystems, including those of cotton, is discussed. Maxwell-Boltzmann and Bose-Einstein statistics are addressed in relation to immigration models. The use of Bose-Einstein statistics is supported as a basis for immigration modeling with empirical data collected from fields of cotton and oats. Related computer simulation programs and results are presented.
