A Two-Year Study of the Effect of Early Season Insect Control in Cotton Yield

W.P. Scott, G.L. Snodgrass, and J.W. Smith

ABSTRACT

Cotton grown near Indianola, Mississippi was treated with scheduled applications of several different insecticides during June of 1985 and 1986. Control of several different early-season pests including low populations of plant bugs resulted in yield increases, although yield in the insecticide treatments was usually not significantly different from yield in the check treatments.
