Importance of Soil Condition on Energy Requirement

L.A. Smith and J.R. Williford

ABSTRACT

Data describing energy requirements for agricultural implements have been collected and published regularly over the past several years. This information is of value, but it is somewhat site specific unless techniques can be developed which allow one to apply the data from one site to the prediction of the same type of data at other sites. A data set is discussed which illustrates the interaction of soil condition with slip and pull for six implements.
