Following reports of positive discussions between the U.S. and China, work continues between the negotiators to complete details on what is being referred to as the “phase one agreement.” Negotiators are working to finalize the agreement by mid-November when the U.S. and Chinese leaders will meet at the Asia Pacific Economic Summit. Reece Langley, Vice President of Washington Operations for the National Cotton Council, joins us with the expectations and questions he has on this agreement.

Meanwhile, the Department of Agriculture is scheduled to release the second tranche of payments to farmers eligible for the Market Facilitation Program, or MFP, this month. This program was designed to provide aid and assist farmers hurt by the ongoing trade dispute.
