USDA’s March Prospective Plantings Report indicates US cotton producers intend to plant a little over 9.5 million acres of cotton in 2015, which is down 13.5% from last year. The National Cotton Council conducted its own Planting Intentions Survey, releasing the results in February. Shawn Boyd, Agricultural Economist for the Council, starts us off with a comparison of the two reports.
