This week's Cotton Newsline is 4 cuts. All cuts are Bill Robertson, Manager of Cotton Agronomy, Soils and Physiology at the National Cotton Council of America.
Suggested Introduction 1:
The EPA extended the deadline by which owners or operators of a farm must prepare for and implement a SPCC Plan from November 10, 2011 to May 10, 2013. This additional 18 months provides time for farms to comply with this regulation. Bill Robertson, Manager of Cotton Agronomy, Soils, and Physiology at the National Cotton Council examines the limitations presented by these SPCC regulations, and explains the benefits of the FUELS Act to cotton farmers.
Suggested Introduction 2:
Robertson explains how the SPCC rule applies to farmers and ranchers with above-ground oil storage facilities.
Suggested Introduction 3:
The FUELS Act is a needed solution to an overbroad regulation that has a disproportionate impact on small farmers and ranchers.
Suggested Introduction 4:
The FUELS Act will update the SPCC rule to effectively apply fuel containment protections… helping safeguard land and waters, and protect small businessmen.
