Minnich says Cotton Council International, the international division of the National Cotton Council provided funding to send a representative from the Council to Istanbul Turkey to meet with FAS officials to discuss "Industrial Uses of Transgenic Crops."

Minnich points out that in August 2010 Bayer, the only company to manufacture Temik a key tool in cotton production for control of early season insect and nematode populations as well as for lygus control, agreed to phase out production and then announced it would discontinue production immediately in March 2011.
