At the end of 2008 USDA published an interim rule to implement the 2008 Farm Bill farm program payment limitation and eligibility provisions for the 2009 and subsequent crop years.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  The first two cuts are National Cotton Council Chairman and Arkansas producer Larry McClendon. The third cut is Chuck Coley, Chairman of the American Cotton Producers and Vienna, Georgia producer.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
At the end of 2008 USDA published an interim rule to implement the 2008 Farm Bill farm program payment limitation and eligibility provisions for the 2009 and subsequent crop years.  Larry McClendon, Chairman of the National Cotton Council, says the interim rule strays beyond Congressional intent.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
According to McClendon, Senators Saxby Chambliss and Blanche Lincoln are circulating a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack.

Chuck Coley, Chairman of the American Cotton Producers says these far-reaching reforms will affect virtually every farming operation.
