USDA is estimating 12-point-7 million bales for the 2008 cotton crop.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Robbie Seals, USDA-AMS Cotton Program, Chief of the Grading Branch in Memphis, Tennessee.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
USDA is estimating 12-point-7 million bales for the 2008 cotton crop.  Robbie Seals, Chief of the grading branch in Memphis, Tennessee says a little over 90 percent of the crop has been classed.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
According to Seals, beltwide the quality of the cotton was very good but there was more trash in this year’s crop than they’ve seen in several years.

Suggested introduction cut 3:
Due to fewer acres in the far west, Seals says production took a major cut.
