The USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation approved the 2008 specifications for Cotton Bale Packaging Materials.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 4 cuts.  All cuts are Curtis Stewart, Chairman of the Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee and General Manager of  Dumas Cotton Gin, Dumas, AR.

The USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation approved the 2008 specifications for Cotton Bale Packaging Materials.  Curtis Stewart, Chairman of the Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee says these specifications continue to be guidelines for manufacturing and use of cotton bale packaging materials.

Stewart says there are several reasons for revising the specs.

According to Stewart, The Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee also agreed to consider a phase-out of burlap as an approved material in two to three years.
