The 2008 Farm Bill includes several new disaster programs.

This weeks Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
The 2008 Farm Bill includes several new disaster programs.  Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council says to be eligible for the disaster programs producers must purchase at least Catastrophic or CAT level of coverage for all insurable crops and Non-insured Agricultural Products or NAP coverage for all non-insurable crops in all counties that is intended for harvest.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
Minnich says for 2008 producers can pay a buy-in fee to be eligible for Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payment programs for crops for which they did not already purchase crop insurance or NAP coverage.

Suggested introduction cut 3:
Minnich says this waiver only applies to 2008.
