The House and Senate Conferees have concluded work on the 2008 farm bill. Congress expects to vote on the bill next week.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
The House and Senate Conferees have concluded work on the 2008 farm bill. Congress expects to vote on the bill next week.  According to Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, the conference report contains many of the cotton industry’s farm bill priorities.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
Adams says the bill contains some concerns as well.

Suggested introduction cut 3:
Adams believes it will take a strong effort by the cotton industry along with other commodity, conservation, nutrition and agri-businesses to ensure passage.
