USDA has announced that eligible farmers who suffered crop losses that occurred prior to December 31, 2007 can now apply to receive disaster payments.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
USDA has announced that eligible farmers who suffered crop losses that occurred prior to December 31, 2007 can now apply to receive disaster payments.  According to Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council, this was approved by congress late in 2007.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
The Farm Service Agency is now accepting applications and making payments for QUANTITY losses before December 31, 2007. Minnich says sign-up and payments for QUALITY losses will take place in the spring.
