The Performance and Standards Task Force is responsible for improving the flow of cotton from field to fabric. Dale Thompson, Manager of Marketing and Processing Technology for the National Cotton Council says the industry has a year of electronic warehouse reporting under their belt and now it’s time to move on to the next stage of making the logistics electronic as well.

Thompson says one of the charges of the task force and Council staff is to map the flow of cotton and devise a better understanding of those choke points between the gin and the warehouse and the textile mill.

According to Thompson, the ideal system would allow access to all warehouse schedules through one website.
