The Senate resumed debate on the Farm Bill Tuesday.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council. 

Suggested introduction cut 1:
The Senate resumed debate on the Farm Bill Tuesday.  An amendment offered by Senators Lugar and Lautenberg, that would phase out farm subsidies and strengthen crop insurance programs, failed on a vote of 37 to 58. According to Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, this is good news for all producers.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
Adams says there are still other amendments to be debated that could harm cotton producers.

Suggested introduction cut 3:
Adams says it’s not too late to call your Senator.
