The Multi-Commodity Education Program was launched last October when producers from the Midwest and Far West traveled to North Carolina to observe cotton production and processing and other agricultural operations.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 2 cuts.  All cuts are Paco Ollerton a producer from Casa Grande, Arizona. Part one of two stories on the Multi-Commodity Education Program.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
The Multi-Commodity Education Program was launched last October when producers from the Midwest and Far West traveled to North Carolina to observe cotton production and processing and other agricultural operations. Last week producers from the Sunbelt completed the exchange with a similar tour of agricultural operations in North Dakota. Paco Ollerton, a producer from Casa Grande, Arizona, participated in the tour and found the way crops were marketed to be interesting.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
The exchange program was designed to give producers the chance to observe agronomic practices, technology utilization, cropping patterns and operational structure from other regions. Ollerton was impressed with how the business was structured.
