Now that congress is in recess for the November elections some trade issues that would have primarily affected trade in cotton textile products with Africa and Haiti appear to be in an uncertain stage.

According to Adams the National Cotton Council has asked key Republican Congressional members to express their concern about scheduling floor consideration of the legislation without consideration by the House Ways and Means committee.
