The Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee was formed thirty-eight years ago to develop standards for cotton bales, including safe and environmentally-friendly materials as well as methods and systems for packaging, handling and tagging.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts.  All cuts are Mr. Lee Tiller, Chairman of the Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee.

The Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee was formed thirty-eight years ago to develop standards for cotton bales, including safe and environmentally-friendly materials as well as methods and systems for packaging, handling and tagging. According to Lee Tiller, chairman of the committee, the 2006 meeting was held this week in Memphis to discuss new issues affecting the industry.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

Tiller says the committee will also be working to implement a tagging procedure to trace the raw materials used to make bale bags.

Tiller says the committee works together to preserve the quality of U.S. cotton fiber for mill consumption.
