Wednesday the House of Representatives voted on the Budget Reconciliation Conference report. According to Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council, the House passed the bill on a narrow margin.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

The changes made by the Senate were technical changes and did not affect the agricultural provisions of the bill which were voted on in December. Minnich says this bill will now reduce conservation, research, rural development and commodity programs by about two-point-seven billion dollars over a five year period.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

The bill will also reduce funding for agricultural conservation programs by a little over 900 million dollars and ag research by a little over 600 million dollars over the five years.  According to Minnich the Cotton Step 2 program will be eliminated.
