World wide there are nine weed species that have been reported as resistant to glyphosate herbicide.

York says a lot of major changes in production systems over the past decade have contributed to the resistance problem.

According to York the industry needs to really focus on how it can avoid more problems with resistance by reducing selection pressure on any resistant weeds that may be out there.
