ABSTRACT

The yield response of cotton from supplemental additions of foliar N were investigated. Three applications of 10-lb-N/A foliar urea were added to the soil fertilizer treatments consisting of O-, 50-, 100-, 150- and 200-lb-N/A as a separate soil plus foliar N treatment. Supplemental foliar N produced an increase in seed cotton yield up to a soil applied N level of 100-lb-N/A. The optimum soil N rate was observed to occur between 100- and 150-lb-N/A. Soil N rates below the optimum N rate were found to benefit from supplemental foliar N.
