ABSTRACT

Many producers are using foliar fertilizers on seedling cotton to promote early vigor and increase yields. Five studies were conducted to investigate the value of applying one, two or three applications of 12-48-8 fertilizer as a foliar application to seedling cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.). Two studies also included urea as a foliar application. Plant height and whole plant P and N were determined two weeks after each application on two studies. Yield, P content and N content were not influenced by foliar fertilizers in any study. Height was not influenced by applications of 12-48-8. A slight height difference was observed early with urea at one location.
