The respirable dust in cotton lint measured on an MTM-PCAM system was compared with the amount of respirable dust generated when the cotton was carded. The carding dust was measured on a Continuous Aerosol Monitor (CAM) system. The two methods agreed very well in these tests with an R-square correlation value of 0.96. The MTM-PCAM system predicted a dust content approximately twice the level as found by the carding method. |
