Response of Three Genotypes of Cotton to Yield Enhancement Chemicals Applied at 2 vs 4-5 Leaf Stage of Plant Growth

J.B. Weaver, Jr.

ABSTRACT

Evidence was presented by Weaver and Bhardwaj (1) that chlordimeform (Galecron/Fundal) has a growth regulating effect on cotton when applied as a yield enhancer apparently is due to an increase in blooming 10 to 20 days after first blooms. Thus, we were interested in the response of cotton plants when treatment began at the 2-leaf stage in order to see if an increase in rate of fruiting would be shifted to the first 10 day s of flowering

Foliar Triggrr is a new fermatation product containing plant hormones plus micronutrients. One recommended method for its use is to add two ounces of Triggrr with each application of chlordimeform when chlordimeform is used for yield enhancement.
