ABSTRACT

Pheromone released by live boll weevils as they fed on squares of seven cotton cultivars, was collected on Poropak Q traps from the air surrounding the weevils. Weevil pheromone production was monitored for days 6, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 after emergence and a peak in production was found on day 13 for individuals conditioned on the squares of CAMO-E. The total pheromone produced and ratio of the four pheromone components were found to different n response to cultivar.
