Thrips resistance in glandless cotton was measured during 1984 and 1985. Four parameters of resistance were evaluated. Thrips numbers were not related to leaf surface area, squaring rate or yield in all experimental cotton lines evaluated. Earliness as expressed by squaring rate was the best expression of resistance.
