Previous work has shown that a belt conveyor is cost effective and has sufficient conveying capacity for conveying machine-stripped cotton from a module dispersing system to the first machines in a gin cleaning system (1). Seed cotton drying by using cross flow aeration during the conveying process was investigated in studies to determine the effects of air temperature, air direction, and aeration rate on drying performance.
