Cotton Weed Control Research Needs in the Southeast

Mike Patterson and Dale Monks

ABSTRACT

Seventeen consultant, research, and extension workers from Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina returned surveys on cotton weed control research needs in the Southeast. Eleven questions were asked. The first nine questions asked for both conventional tillage and conservation tillage responses. A majority of respondents answered the conventional tillage part of each question. Approximately one-half of the respondents answered the conservation tillage part of each question. Seven surveys were returned from Alabama, four from Georgia, and three each from North and South Carolina. Seven extension workers, five researchers, and five consultants were included in the 17 respondents. In the following results section, the percentages listed refer to the percentage of respondents who answered that specific question.
