Field Studies on the Parasitoids of Cotton Fleahopper in its Wild Habitat

S.V. Rajakulendran and J.R. Cate

ABSTRACT

No parasitoids were reared from nymphs or adults of the cotton fleahopper, Pseudatomoscelis seriatus (Reuter), collected in central Texas from primrose, horsemint and goatweed. The egg stage on primrose, horsemint and goatweed was parasitized by the mymarid Erythemelus psallidis while that on horsemint was also parasitized by another mymarid Anaphes Sp. Simultaneous parasitism by both parasitoid species has a negative effect on population growth of the cotton fleahopper.
