The Impact of Introduced Honey Bees on Native Bees Foraging in Hybrid Production Areas

ABSTRACT

The efficient and economical pollination of male-sterile cotton is a major factor limiting the commercial production of hybrid cotton. In order to set seed, pollen must be transferred from the fertile B-line to the sterile A-line. Insects, primarily bees, are the primary agents of such pollen transfer.
