ABSTRACT

Currently the most widely used test for determining cottonseed quality by producers on the Texas High Plains is the standard warm germination test. Often, however, the warm germination test results differ greatly from the actual field performance of these seed lots due to the complexity of the components that determine seedling vigor. Twelve cotton (Gossypium hirsutum) cultivars were evaluated each year in the laboratory using the following tests:
