ABSTRACT

An analysis of grade II & grade III byssinotics with special reference to length of exposure to cotton dust prior to onset of symptoms and severity of the disease relative to the length of continued exposure after the onset of symptoms is presented. The effect of smoking on the above and on the annual decline in ventilatory capacity after a byssinotic leaves the cotton industry is also assessed.
