Effects of Laundering on the Color fastness of Fiber Reactive Dyed Cotton Poplin Fabrics Having Functional Finishes

M. M. Warnock and C. J. Hamm

ABSTRACT

Colorfastness to laundering of reactive dyed 100% cotton poplin fabrics having functional finishes of (1) bleach, scour, desize (BSD); (2) bleach, scour, desize/durable press (BSD/DP); (3) bleach, scour, desize/durable press/fluorochemical (BSD/BP/FL) was studied. The bleached, scoured, desized fabric type accepted the greatest amount of dyestuff initially and continued to exhibit the best colorfastness following successive launderings.
