A Practical System of Plant Growth Regulation in Cotton Production

Joseph A. Hickey

ABSTRACT

Plant growth regulator usage in commercial cotton production has increased as plant monitoring systems and research have been developed that emphasize product activity at individual growth phases. A system of plant growth regulation using the growth retardant mepiquat-chloride (PIX), and PGR-IV, a multi-entity hormone product, was initiated to evaluate compatibility and/or interactions. Yield increases were indicated when products were used in sequential applications.
