Fall and Beet Armyworm Control

Ronald H. Smith

ABSTRACT

Both the fall and beet armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda and Spodoptera exigua) have been sporadic pests of cotton for many years. However, since the mid-to-late 1970's the fall armyworm has become more consistent and widespread in its attack on cotton. The control of either species is difficult, but does vary somewhat between regions of the cotton belt.
