The Thrips Problem

W.R. Lambert

ABSTRACT

The thrips problem remains a controversial one. Many species of thrips have been reported associated with cotton from the seedling stage to maturity both as pests and as predators. Numerous reasons are given for controlling thrips and most states report yield losses attributable to thrips damage. But research data rarely justify control.
