G. A. Herzog, D. D. Hardee and M. R. Williams

ABSTRACT

The 47th Annual Meeting of the Cotton Insect Research and Control Conference was called to order by Gary Herzog at 3:30 on 7 January, 1994. There were 55 members present at the business meeting. Co-chairman Herzog indicated that this has been a very successful meeting with 173 paper titles being submitted for presentation at the conference. Participation and attendance is not quite up to previous years but certainly higher than earlier expected. Total attendance at the Beltwide Cotton Conferences was in excess of 2800 and attendance at the Cotton Insect Conferences was at times in excess of 500.

Herzog asked for a moment of silence for those former members who passed away during the year. Two former members were so recognized; Tom Leigh and Ted Davich.
