ABSTRACT

Payload 15G and TERRACLOR Super X (Di-syston) alone and in combination with Temik 15G were evaluated for phytotoxicity, thrips and nematode control in field trials at two locations. The first field was not infested with nematodes and the second was infested with Columbia lance and root-knot nematodes. Use in-furrow at planting of either 6.0 lb/A Payload 15G or 15 lb/A Terraclor Super X (Di-syston) in combination in-furrow at-planting with 7.0 lb/A Temik 15G did not result in any detectable symptoms of phytotoxicity. Plant damage due to thrips was almost eliminated by both treatments. Nematode control by any of the three treatments was difficult to detect due to drought conditions during the growing season. Either treatment would be very useful in eliminating thrips as a confounding factor in yield loss experiments utilizing Temik 15G as a nematicide.
