Plant Characteristics and Earliness in Pima Cotton Genotypes

K.E. Fry and C.V. Feaster

ABSTRACT

Benefits of early cotton varieties are better adaptability to short season climates and lower cost in irrigation and pest control. New experiments genotypes of Pima extra-long staple cotton (Gossypium barbadense L.) fruit earlier than the older types. This paper discusses plant characteristics that differ between early and late fruiting genotypes.
