1993 Module Averaging

Jesse F. Moore

ABSTRACT

Module averaging was expanded in 1993 to include color and trash, thereby bringing all HVI quality factors into the voluntary program. Fiber quality data on 2.8 million bales of cotton were collected and analyzed as part of this project. The analyses show that laboratory-to-laboratory reproducibility of measurements for all quality factors is improved by assigning the module or trailer average fiber property measurement to each bale in the module or trailer.
