ABSTRACT

Some general principles are given on the use of pheromone-based attract-and-kill systems for insect control. Recent tests with the Boll Weevil Bait Stick are described. Results of dosage tests showed that there was an almost linear relationship between Grandlure dosage and boll weevil capture. Dosages tested were 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60. An alternative Grandlure dispenser was found to be as effective as the PVC cap used to date.
