Decoupling Color and Leaf Grades for the 1993 Crop

Harmon H. (Hob) Ramey, Jr.

ABSTRACT

Since the beginning of grade standards, the factors which determined the grade of U.S. upland cotton were the color, the leaf content and the preparation. Separate grades for color and for leaf have been established. When these become effective at the start of the 1993 crop, classers will assign a color grade and a leaf grade for each sample.
