Theoretical Performance Characteristics of Gins

J. Alex Thomasson

ABSTRACT

Component specifications representative of a typical cotton color meter were examined for error-related performance with specific emphasis on use in a cotton gin environment. Theoretically possible errors were cotton sample. The primary error factor was light source fluctuation, particularly in the blue region, caused by deviations and oscillations from nominal voltage of the power supply.
