A Through the Mill Study of Neps, Trash, and Short Fiber Content

ABSTRACT

A through the mill study of the variations in nep, trash, length, and short fiber content of cotton was performed. Samples were taken at various process points in the textile mill from bale to roving. The Zellweger Uster Advanced Fiber Information System (AFIS) was used to measure the various parameters on the samples analyzed in this study.
