Cotton Variety and Ginning Effects on Cotton Quality: A Preliminary Report

S.E. Hughs and C.K. Bragg

ABSTRACT

Work has started on better defining the quality effects of variety and ginning on textile processing. Preliminary results have shown the effects of both variety and ginning treatment on length, neps and trash content of raw fiber. Also, results have shown some action by different textile processing or lessening the effects of ginning treatment on yarn quality. Work is not yet fully completed.
