Performance of PGR IV in Cotton

Rhett R. Atkins

ABSTRACT

PGR IV received a federal label as a plant growth regulator in October of 1990. In 1991, PGR IV was sold and tested extensively by scientist, growers and consultants. Results from 1991 reconfirmed earlier studies done with PGR IV. The product accelerates the cotton plant's reproductive physiology by altering the ratio of internal plant regulants - enhancing the plant's ability to initiate, set and retain more fruit while maintaining the optimum ratio of reproductive to vegetative growth under a wide range of environmental conditions.
