Multi-Boom Plot Sprayer for Field Research: Designed with Safety and Efficiency in Mind

J. Whitehead, D. Prochaska, and M. Hackworth

ABSTRACT

A small plot sprayer for field research was developed with safety and efficiency in mind. The sprayer was mounted on a John Deere 6000 Hi-Cycle in a manner which isolates the operator from exposure for safety purposes. This sprayer is made of twelve parallel spray systems, a unique wash-out system, flexible spray booms, and optional spray fenders. A trailer was also designed to transport this unit from one research area to another.
