ABSTRACT

Three years ago (1989) the first meeting of the IRAC-Cotton-US Committee was convened. This committee is comprised of representatives of practically every company producing products for cotton insect and mite control. The purpose of the committee is to coordinate efforts and work with non-industry researchers to prolong the use-life of insecticides and acaracides by defining and recommending appropriate technical data relative to combating resistance problems associated cotton production in the U.S. IRAC-Cotton-US is currently cooperating with IRAC Cotton (its international parent committee) in assembling data pertinent to controlling cotton pests, standardization of susceptibility test procedures and developing practical resistance management strategies. The future plans of IRAC-Cotton (its international parent committee) in assembling data pertinent to controlling cotton pests, standardization of susceptibility test procedures and developing practical resistance management strategies. The future plans of IRAC-Cotton-US and its relationship with PEG-US are addressed in the following discussion.
