ABSTRACT

Basic behavior patterns of the boll weevil (Anthonomus grandis Boheman) are discussed as they relate to response to Grandlure. Factors that affect the effectiveness of Bait Sticks are discussed. A mathematical analysis is presented which shows the importance of deploying Bait Sticks early. The mathematical model also offers a rationale for the improved efficacy of Bait Sticks when boll weevil population levels are low.
