ABSTRACT

Seeds of five wild gossypium accessions, G. thurberi, G. turneri, G. armourianum, G. harknessii, and G. davidsonii; and dooryard accessions of G. hirsutum were collected during November and December 1990. Collecting was in the states of Baja California Norte, Baja California Sur, Sonora, and Sinaloa, Mexico. Although we were able to find abundant plants of G. aridum ar several locations were did not collect seed of this will species as these plants were just beginning to bloom during this period. The accessions collected will add to the gremplasm diversity of the Naitonal Gossypium Collection. The cotton collection expedition was a collaborative project between, USDA-ARS, The university of Arkansas, and Instituto Nacional do Investigacions Forestales y Agropecuarias, Mexico.
